Just two of us, yet it was super fun, got a lot of laughs and makes you use your mind. The guy that worked that day definitely fit the theme, cool and cruisyGreat funIt was a really fun experience for a group of 6. It was for my mother who is in her 80’s and enjoys games and it got everyone interested. Thoroughly recommend for something a bit different.Thank you Lenny! We did this together as part of our wedding anniversary weekend trip and had an absolute ball! We didn’t know what to expect, this being our first escape room experience. The puzzles/problems were interesting and varied, the welcome warm, and the hints helpfulFirst timerI’m glad that my first escape room experience was with ERM! The staff were more than friendly and the room was progressively difficult. I really enjoyed the “Keller’s magician” room. If you’re looking for a puzzle then grab a few friends.

    The Astor Theatre

Fun & Games, Concerts & Shows Address: 1 Chapel St, St Kilda VIC 3182, AustraliaPhone: +61 3 9510 1414Beautiful Art Deco theatre. A true Melbourne gem.

Highly recommend a trip to the classic Astor Theatre. The tickets are very cheap and the theatre itself is beautifully decorated. It also has its own resident cat! Architecture and theatre buffs can not afford to miss an Astor visit.Great selection of films.Look at the schedule well in advance as they have a range of movies. It’s like stepping back in time. The seats could be more comfortable but it’s an amazing experience. Melbourne is lucky to have the Astor.Step back in timeA grand olde cinema. It still has the original seats and fixtures. The only downside is parking can be a challenge but it’s worth the hassle, just allow extra time and if you have time have a drink in the adjoining cafe/bar.Movie MagicNo better place to watch a movie. Yippee Ki-ay Mother******! (As Bruce Willis AKA John McClane might say in any of his Die Hard films!)

    AAMI Park

    Fun & Games, Sports Complexes

Address: Olympic Blvd, Melbourne VIC 3000, AustraliaPhone:  +61 3 9286 1600Melbourne Storm gameState of the art sports arena holding 30,000 spectators. Comfortable seating & not squashed in. Great view from seating anywhere in stadium. Excellent gym with pool. Cafe outside and members bar. Many food stands available. Expensive if buying for a family.GreatReally great ground for rugby, im from adelaide so its never going to be better the adelaide oval, but was really good, feel close to the action seats a bit close together though but good atmosphereMore modern than the MCGI thought AAMI Park was quite more modern than the MCG, better snack stands and the quality of the surrounding grounds. Although the layout is a tad different from the MCG, it was a nice stadium. Amazing looking stadiumHad the pleasure of going to see a few Melbourne Storm games here, including the one against New Zealand on ANZAC day – well worth it if you can get tickets. The stadium itself looks state of the art.

You can’t stop talking about it once you’re done – it’s completely immersive and like nothing else I’ve experienced before. Will be back again.Absolutely amazing.Been here twice now and every time is a memorable experience, and really gets you pumped up! Only minor criticism is that the resolution in the VR goggles is slightly grainy (because the technology is still relatively new) but overall an awesome experience.

    Crown Casino

Fun & Games, Casinos & Gambling

Address: 8 Whiteman St, Southbank VIC 3006, AustraliaPhone+61 3 9292 8888Great Sports BarA great bar that will he showing the sport you desire. It is as you can imagine very tactically placed beside a number of tables that catch your eye. That’s casinos. Bar is good, tables are good. Be carefulA Fantastic Stay and a Great ExperienceWe stayed for 3 nights whilst touring around the Melbourne and coastal area from London. We had a lovely suite the service was excellent and the amount of choice eating out and along the riverside was awesome. So central close to the city centre which we also enjoyed.
Thank YouAll that glittersWalking through Crown Casino, the word opulence comes to mind.

Everything seems to glitter and gleam, poker machines ring, displays sparkle and it all seems so opulent. Even when people walk in with casual jeans and shoes.

There’s just something about Crown that sucks you in and has you admiring all the interior design and ker-ching of the place.

Admire it yes – pull out your wallet and throw some money in the slots? Maybe (not me).A huge entertainment complexThis complex is not just about separating people from their money it is also about entertainment. There is a large number of food outlets ranging from a large food court through middle of the road cafes and restaurants up to fine dining. There is also the casino as well as a number of bars.

    IMAX Melbourne Museum

    Fun & Games, Movie Theaters

Address: Melbourne Museum Precinct, Rathdowne St, Carlton VIC 3053, AustraliaPhone+61 3 9663 5454Get the premium seats if you have the chanceSaw Solo, a Star Wars story 3D in imax. The premium seats were great. Loads of leg roombut you could also put the leg rest of your seat up -brilliant, venue really clean, not like usual cinema experience. Service at food and drink bar excellent, easy to get to.Cool and inspiring.IMAX Melbourne now is the biggest screen of its kind before Sydneys will come online after rebuild. Most of the time deserted but jampacked on blockbuster nights and delivering a massive educational punch (in conjunction with Melbourne Museum)…
Membership deal is simply amazing. The one that no commercial joints would ever match. So cool. So relaxed…A great BIG Screen! We went to watch a movie here, it was a must do on our recent visit to Melbourne, as we had heard of the size of the screen! We were not disappointed, it is HUGE, even sitting at the back row, we still found our heads moving in order to watch the whole screen! We watched in 3D, the glasses were clean and comfortable, the seats clean, comfortable, and well sized.
The only downfall, which was to be expected, was the prices, we paid over $100 for two seats and some popcorn and drinks. However, it is a must do for any cinema fan!Expensive but worth itWould not pay the extra for the Premium seats wherever they were.We picked really good seats in the middle about 3 rows from the back. The sounds & images are amazing you really feel you are part of the film!!
Great outing for kids & families but quite expesive was $55.00 for a film that barely laster the 45 minutes it was supposed to run for.

    LXM Escape Room

Fun & Games, Room Escape Games

Address: 179 Park St, South Melbourne VIC 3205, AustraliaPhone+61 424 670 690Great family funWe took our 7 & 9 into the Watson Conspiracy Room. We didn’t what to expect as we were new to escape rooms.
I though the boys would get frustrated and bored and not contribute to the escape. But they absolutely loved it and both paid a part in getting us ‘almost’ all the way through. We didn’t rely on the walkie talkie assistance very much as we wanted to figure it al out ourselves.
Now that the know what to expect we can’t wait to do a different room… and smash it!A good hour of funHad a great time with family and friends. Our first time in an escape room. The puzzles were challenging enough and the suspense as the clock ticks down is palpable. They need to ensure the room is cleaned up, torches work and new or uncrumpled clues are provided. That said it was a great experience and I would certainly revisit. This was so much fun!!!I’ve been dubious about these since they hit the scene a while back but we went on the weekend with friends and we had a great time.

They have 3 or 4 different rooms you can try all with a different theme and a bit of a storyline (that is relevant). The clues are straightforward enough that anyone can take part and hard enough to be a real challenge. It’s one of those slightly daggy, but really good fun activities.

I can’t wait to go back and try another room and hopefully not die next time!Different and funI’d heard a lot about escape rooms but wasn’t sure what to expect. We did the Mason Kidnapping and it didn’t disappoint. It was challenging, different and took all of our concentration. Whilst we did make it out, we did need every minute of the time allocated to us. Now for the next room.

    Adventure Rooms Melbourne

Fun & Games, Room Escape Games

Address: 306 Little Collins St, Melbourne VIC 3000, AustraliaPhone+61 3 9650 0423A great way to get the brain working! This was my first Adventure Room experience and loved it! The staff were helpful and friendly. Even received a discount because I said I was visiting from South Australia! Bonus! I went with a friend who is has done a few around Melbourne and he said it was one of the best he had done. We did the Mad Scientist’s Lab and managed to complete it in time . If you have an hour to spare and want to get the brain working, then give this a go. You will need to book, but it’s worth it.a challenging funThe first challenge was to find the place and we liked that. very friendly receptionist. we did many Escape rooms before. this one was more fun and more challenging as use techniques we never seen before and had very clever ideas. we are going to go again to do the other rooms . we loved it.The best fun!I’d heard if escape rooms before but the idea kind of scared me! A group of friends all decided to have a go and it was genuinely one of the most fun things I’ve ever done! We all loved it! Got two groups and did two rooms at once, competing who could escape first which made it even more competitive! Really loved itAwesome fun night out!Decided to take my husband & 2 children (17 & 14) here for my hubby’s birthday. None of us had been in an escape room before. From the minute we walked in the door we were impressed. So professional and SO much fun. We did Goal Break unfortunately we didn’t get out but had bucket loads of fun trying. We want to go back and try and get out of mad scientist. I must say with Goal break we got quite far, the way it was done was perfect. Thanks heaps for a great night Adventure Rooms Melbourne!

    Palace Cinema Como

    Fun & Games, Movie Theaters

Address: Toorak Rd, South Yarra VIC 3141, AustraliaPhone+61 3 9827 7533 Classy FlicksPalace Como is a great venue to see a film. Either mainstream or one of the many arthouse movies shown amongst the many festivals. We saw a beautiful film during the British Film Festival. The decor is luxurious and the bar is well stocked with many wine choices, coffee, snacks, baguettes and pastries. Very comfortable and clean cinemas with new seats.Glamour! What a lovely theatre! Beautifully decorated foyer – all black with glamorous French style furniture. There is bar and café service. The theatre itself has lovely comfy seating. Situated in local mall not far from the South Yarra Railway station, it’s very convenient and I think there are six cinemas in the complex.Great cinemaesThe como cinema is a great place to take in a film its like watching one at home very clean and very comfortable also u con take a glass of wine in or coffee and they always have such good films onExcellent venueYou can’t just not love the Como. A little bit too classic and boutique-like, hence why it attracts the elderly who usually get there on week specials and weekends.
Don’t hesitate to have a drink at their relaxing piano bar with a nice ambiance of low red lighting while browsing movies to watch.
I take everyone there. And I get a small crowd when I play on their piano occasionally 😉
    5 étoiles 🙂

Nightlife, Fun & Games, Concerts & Shows

Address: 11 Singers Ln, Melbourne VIC 3000, AustraliaPhone+61 1300 225 299Somewhere for us oldies to go to enjoy musicHad a great evening seeing Jeff Duff performing the hits of David Bowie. Great night with family for husbands 60th. All patrons were our age and all enjoyed the concert. Took me back many year, but atmosphere was lacking the smokey haze, but it certainly smelt better without it! Look forward to coming again.A lovely nightWent on a Sunday – quiet atmosphere but very enjoyable. We booked it last minute, but for a quiet evening we should have just showed up and avoided the booking fee. We arrived 45 minutes before the advertised start time and got an excellent seat. Good acoustics and quality performer. Food was surprisingly good – better than you’d expect. But it was very expensive for Melbourne, especially considering you’ve already bought a ticket. They’re definitely trying to copy the Blue Note in NYC. Same feel, and you sort of sit on top of the people next to you 😉 Overall a really nice evening.JAMES MORRISON QuartetWow! My wife and I were impressed with the meal and service.
We had booked a two course dinner show. You can also have three courses or just come for the show only. The beef was very tender and tiramisu excellent.
We had a bottle of French Beaujolais.
A bit pricey for a night out but worth it to see/hear the James Morrison Quartet!
An exceptional concert.the musicOn Sunday night we had a blast – beautiful sophisticated club – the expresso martinis were fantastic – we just drank and ate and listened to live music – it was so much fun – was relaxing -just what I needed – Wow wow wow !

    St Kilda Adventure Playground

Fun & Games, Nature & Parks, Playgrounds

Address: Neptune St, St Kilda VIC 3182, AustraliaPhone+61 3 9209 6348One of our favorites! This is a park that lets kids be kids – explore, run, challenge themselves & enjoy themselves .. & who would know your in the heart of St Kilda!… & what make it even better is that whilst the kids are playing, parents can sit, relax, read the paper & enjoy Melbourne! A MUST for all kids (big & small!)great place to spend a couple of hours with the kidsThis well shaded, very well designed and made park has some great rides for the kids including; a tree house you need to rope climb to get in, a zip line(my 7 year olds favourite), a billy cart track and many many other items to climb up and in.Boho BrillianceSomething for everyone!

I believe they are often changing their equipment but what was there a year ago was awesome. Our three kids (aged 2, 5 and 7) all had a lot of fun.

Lots of interesting activities with a difference- a giant horse made from barrels and floating on old tires, rope ladders into cubby houses, a giant slide that looks like a skate ramp but it’s for people to slide down on their bottoms…

FUNAwwweeeesomeeeeTotally love this place. Just wish it opened longer each day than it does (school hols it doesnt open till 11am). Most of the equipment is from recycled material – it looks like treasure island to me!!!! Not for those who like shiny, new, plastic stuff or looney tunes themes!!!!

Also – I’ve never seen a ‘junkie’ anywhere near the place!!

    Moonlight Cinema

    Fun & Games, Movie Theaters

Address: Birdwood Avenue | Central Lawn, Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, Victoria 3141, AustraliaPhone:  +61 2 9373 6000 First outdoor cinema experience – loved it!!We watched the greatest showman which was amazing, plus the fact we were outside in the beautiful botanical gardens with snacks and bubbly….what more could a girl want?!
Recommend taking your own beanbag as the ones to hire sold out quickly. Also pack a jumper and blanket.BYO outdoor cinema with atmosphere and comfortWe were given gold grass tickets for christmas and watched Murder on the Orient Express (the new version) lounging on bean bags sipping wine and beer on a balmy december evening. We brought our own but also purchased some there.
Lovely atmosphere and views for everyone of the giant blow up screen. Ask dusk fell the bats flew over and the screen inflated. SImple things bring such great pleasure and make things memorable. Sound was good as was projection. Walking out of the botanical gardens late that evening reminded me of secret nightime trips out as a child.Great Movie in a park.We went for my daughters 18th birthday to see Hidden Figures.
The atmosphere was great, the weather was good, and the general movie area was good.
We had no issue with finding the entry to the cinema area
The only complaint I have was the use of elelectronic devices during the movie.Great setting for an outdoor cinemaThe bats that fly overhead are worth the attendance themselves. It is in a lovely location and a fun way to watch a film and spend an evening. Trick is to come prepared – bring a picnic, warm clothes and blankets. We didnt buy a beanbag but I think we would next time as they looked comfy.

    Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre

    Fun & Games, Sports Complexes

Address: 30 Aughtie Dr, Melbourne VIC 3206, AustraliaPhone: +61 3 9926 1555MSACMSAC was a great place to visit with my friends. We can’t wait to go again and will be recommending this pool to everyone. The staff are lovely and very helpful and the waterslide was a “splash” the only complaint was the wave pool. The waves were great while they lasted but they didn’t last more than five minutes, next time it would be great if they had the waves for longer than five minutesLovely outdoor pool – not everyone is an OlympianGreat center. Good service. Lockers let you take things in and out. Good store to buy swim kit. The outdoor pool is *unique* insofar as it’s covered, but outdoors. Stayed near there to swim there – and was glad I did.Great space for kidsWe paid AUS$21 for a family of 3 people, my kid is 3 years old and was able to enjoy all including waves pool and mainly the slide.. was his first and he really loved it. We will sure come back again.. The only down side is that we didn’t take any snacks for him and the bar was closed.. the pass only allow for a 1 time entrance.Fun place to playThis center offers all kinds of sports for the whole family. We use the pool and swim facilities most often. You an buy a day pass for the pools if you aren’t a member. During school holidays they have camps and extra activities on the weekends.
There are onsite sport associations as well as outside companies that rent the facilities (tennis for example). The swim lessons are great and affordable

    Playtime Crown

Fun & Games, Game & Entertainment Centers

Address: Crown Entertainment Complex, 8 Whiteman St, Southbank VIC 3006, AustraliaPhone+61 1300 421 567Expensive but can fill time and have funPlaytime at the Crown Casino is a great place to fill in time for the kids or young at heart. It can be quite expensive if you choose games you are not so good at that end. I suggest you look around, watch other play and learn by watching before jumping in. If you don’t know what or how a game is played it can end quite quickly creating frustrating. However when you get the hang of or find your favourite games your visit can turn from frustration to pure pleasure.
All the games going are quite loud. If your light or sound sensitive this won’t be suitable for you.
We had a great time and have visited this a few times now.
Located under the food area. Take the lift to the right down the back of the food court.Fun place to hang outIf you have time to kill. Check out playtime at ground floor of the crown. Packed full of arcade games that appeal to all ages. Buy a game card and get playing. Minimum game cards are $15 which included $5 free value. Most games are $2-2.50 in price. Some games gives you chance to win tickets which can be used in the adjoint shop to spend your tickets on goodies.Loads of fun!The kids loved the arcade games, especially the ghostbusters, transformers and basketball shooting gameWelcome to the new PlaytimePlaytime has undergone a massive renovation and is now a world class entertainment centre. We have more than 170 brand new games, a totally revamped laser arena, the biggest Winners Vault in the southern hemispshere and brand new Playtime food.
