You can get lost in it, it is so photogenic, you can still learn heaps about plants and you can attend events in it. Much more than a botanical garden.Fabulous, must seeWhat an absolute joy to walk in these gardens. Terrific backdrop of the Melbourne centre. Lots of useful information with well tended tracks. I’m not really a “plant” person but really enjoyed this.Calm and relaxing placeThe gardens are beautiful. The old trees and the lovely walkways. A great place to come and relax. Next time I would bring a picnic.

We took a wander round and just sat there – very pretty and tranquil even its proximity to the centre. Worth looking round Cooks Cottage.A must see visit!A delightful little respite that should be included in your Melbourne meandering! Take time to sit, stroll and embrace the beauty of this inner city park.Oasis in the CityLove Fitzroy Gardens – beautifully kept and so easy to get to and stroll around. The Conservatory is a gem ! Do yourself a favour and spend an hour or two wandering and take in the tranquility!!

We had a picnic on the lawns and watched the black swans on the river. good for walking and biking.pretty place to chillnice large park with several interesting historical monuments & attractive flowerbeds. great place to relax in, you can see the city but the hum just fades away. does need more toilets thoughScenic Gardens in the City CentreThe Queen Victoria Gardens are well located in Melbourne’s CBD and are well maintained, etc. Even though it was raining this afternoon, my friend and I enjoyed our walk through the gardens. Serene and peaceful, the QVG are a real landmark in this city.

There is lots of produce planted by the locals and some art work.Creative artwork in a pleasant gardenWe love walking through this garden, with the different vegies, and especially the clever sculptures and ornamental artworks. Many are fascinating to see,with some clever ideas for what would otherwise be junk. We visit it every time we are in St. KIlda

The gardens are spectacular and the home maintained in beautiful condition. The Ballroom is such a stunning room – in particular the ceiling.A time capsule worth visitingDecided to go to ripponlea after a visit to the Brighton boxes. The tour was fantastic and our guide was great fun and very informative. A step back into the early 20th century and it definitively worth a visit. The gardens are beautiful and well..So interesting!loved it conjured up images of years if not eons gone by. Ground are beautiful, house is very well preserved.
King’s Domain Gardens

We walked through these gardens when we visited The Shrine of Remembrance and The Sydney Myer Music Bowl. A relaxing area away from the hustle and bustle of the city.Magnificent GardensThese are large gardens that run down St Kilda Road and border the Royal Botanic Gardens and are quite beautiful in their own right with a number of interesting places to walk and some interesting statues and fountains. Pick a nice sunny day.Beautiful small garden next to Royal Botanical GardenKing’s domain garden is located in between Victoria garden ( another small park ) and Shrine of Remembrance, it can be easily accessible through st Kilda rd near National Gallery of arts. Well maintained park with lots of free space , monuments and statues.Nice gardensWe walked through the King’s Domain Gardens on our way to the Government House. Nice greenery to walk through – and very clean. The Botanic Gardens (which are further south from the King’s Domain) had more flowers. Kings Domain was mainly greenery.
Catani Gardens

Great for a picnic and it has a nice park for the children. Sometimes there is also pony rides there. Toilets could be kept a bit cleaner and appealing to use.Well maintained park on St Kilda’s beachfront.Visited on Friday 23rd February. I have often walked along this part of St Kilda’s beachfront and these particular gardens are always well maintained. Todays visit was no different.one of my favourite gardens in MelbourneAs a St Kilda local I go to Catani often with my dog. Instead of going to the beach and getting all sandy I come here with my towel and relax. The massive palm trees are my favourite.Summer day hangs.Great place to relax with friends for a picnic with some music or a game of soccer on a summers day. The public toilets need more regular maintenance though.

It is still used for smaller exhibitions and is still the centre-piece of the annual Melbourne International Flower..Beautiful BuildingWe visit here offen for special events. Love going to Dog lovers show and Melbourne flower and garden show. Always easy to get to and very clean and tidy. All events are very well run.Great for MelbourneBeautiful colonial architectureWith its domed roof and cruciform layout all in sandy coloured stone this royalty approved exhibition hall is well worth a look , the gardens are lovely and being next door to the super modern museum it provides a great contrast.
Flagstaff Gardens

I visited Melbourne in spring and there were lots of gorgeous, colourful flowers in this garden. A nice place to relax as there were plenty of benches.Daughters WeddingOur Daughter and her fiancee were married at the City of Melbourne Bowling Club in the beautiful surrounds of Flagstaff Gardens. An ideal setting.Chill out here.I have many trips to the Melbourne Central Business District. These gardens are awesome. Sun filled with great lawns and tree covered shade. A great place for a break or just to contemplate.Great spot to have a picnic.Daytime provides a welcome break from work/sightseeing but evening is enchanted, with the squirrels coming out to play. Take some crusts and feed the little critters right there in Latrobe Street. Magical.
Treasury Gardens

You can wander through the landscaped garden. There is a memorial to President John F Kennedy by the fountain/pond. If you go back in the evening you may spot a Possum.NOT TO BE MISSEDWe walked through and around on our way to & back from the MCG. Loved the gardens. Loved the picnicking taking place and the ones having wedding photos taken.Nice gardensTreasury Gardens are a beautiful spot where you can go to just relax. We walked through and sat down for a while in amongst the trees and the beautiful flowers. There are also some lovely ponds with birds and other life. Worth visiting.

They are easily accessible by Tram or reasonable walking distance from most CBD locations. Highlights include the Exhibition Building, Melbourne Museum, and the well designed gardens.Beautiful place to relaxThis is one of my favourite places to relax in Melbourne. I especially like the gardens in Autumn. At this time of year, the colours are beautiful.Beautiful in AutumnFriends and I visited early May and the gardens were so beautiful! All of the autumn leaves were falling. We went for a walk around there’s heaps of places to sit on the grass and there’s a basketball court and playground behind the museum.

Great place to take a picnic too.the lesser of the domain parkland gardensnot as pleasant as its fellow domain parklands (shrine,botanic gardens,King domain or queen victoria) but still worth a look for great photo opps of city eg eureka tower and its location on yarraBeautifulBeautiful gardens with many beautiful trees and plants. A great place to sit and think. Such a calming atmosphere and I love how close it is to other gardens!

Barkly Gardens is one of these in the increasingly popular and now very trendy suburb of Richmond. There is nothing particularly special about this little park
Dame Nellie Melba Memorial Park

It’s well maintained and a very pleasant spot to sit in the grass and relax on a sunny day. The road is a little busy but never-the-less quiteCelebrating a Richmond super-starDame Nellie Melba is said to be the world’s first super-star. This celebrated grand diva was the toast of the operatic world at the turn of the 20th century. She was a Richmond native, as this park attests.The park is neat and well kept, Great place to bring the kiddies on a sunny dayLovely park off church st that the kids will love. If you someone who loves laying in the sun reading a book than this park is for you.
